Downwinders
What is that?
A downwinder is a one-way trip where you sail from one point to another, following the direction of the wind. Unlike a regular session where you stay in the same area and have to work to keep your position, a downwinder allows you to travel continuously with the wind at your back for the entire distance. The FOREVER SURFING.
This format is practical for training because it eliminates the need to sail upwind. This allows you to focus entirely on your technique surfing the swell, and maneuvering.
We handle all the necessary logistics, including safety and transport to bring you back to the starting point.
Where to do?
Since Foil Journey is based in Preá, we have the best downwind conditions right on our doorstep. The 30km stretch from Barrinha to Guriú is perfect for your progression, offering a variety of conditions.
The Jeri to Guriú leg is for sure the easiest, while the Barrinha to Preá run is the most convenient if you're staying in Preá.
